Sports Premium

Please read the information below which gives details of our PE and Sport Premium Grant and how we allocate the funding.

2016/2017 Objectives

  • To improve the quality of teaching within PE lessons through specialist teaching.
  • To widen the PE curriculum and out of hours school learning by introducing new sports.
  • To increase the number of children participating in inter school sport and introduce intra competitions with a particular focus on years 3 and 4 initially.

Attleborough Primary School is committed to the highest quality of provision for sports across the school. This year we received £9811 in Sports Premium funding.  We work in close partnership with Attleborough Academy Norfolk (AAN) who we pay £5275 to enhance our PE and Sports curriculum to offer and provide specialist teaching from KS3 teachers. This includes dance, rugby, inter school sports, cricket, football, basketball and gym.

£2000 is spent on providing children with the opportunity to attend a wide range of sporting activities within the cluster and across the county of Norfolk. As well as hosting a wide variety of sporting activities including inter school competitions.

We employ a play leader at lunchtimes (£877.00) to organise, referee and support pupils during their lunchtime

The weekly curriculum provides an entitlement to 2 hours of PE/Sports per week for all learners and the remaining £1659 enables us to buy PE resources and equipment.
